About Yana

Yana Gogia

My name is Yana Gogia, and I am currently a freshman at Rock Ridge High School. Passionate about inspiring aspiring individuals in computer science and STEM, I co-founded a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering this inspiration.

My journey in STEM began in elementary school and continued through middle school, where I actively participated in various STEM competitions. Starting with block coding in school and utilizing platforms like Scratch, I honed my skills and progressed to Python programming as I advanced further. I proudly competed in the American Computer Science League (ACSL) for three years, achieving perfect scores for two consecutive years.

Last year, I expanded my knowledge in the STEM field by attending the Mark Cuban Foundation (MCF) AI bootcamp. Motivated by my experience, I now serve as an ambassador, striving to enhance the camp’s impact for children interested in artificial intelligence.

Currently, I am an active participant in the USA Computing Olympiad (USACO), utilizing both Java and Python in my endeavors. Additionally, I compete in the Data Science and Analytics event for the Technology Student Association, where I represented Rock Ridge High School and secured 5th place in the state competition for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Driven by my passion and expertise in STEM, I aim to utilize my experiences to encourage and inspire those interested in computer science and STEM fields.
