About Iha

Iha Gorjala

My name is Iha Gorjala and I am a freshman at Rock Ridge High School. My goal as co-founder of Teenspire Coding is to inspire and encourage kids interested in computer science and STEM.

I have participated in many robotics and computer science competitions throughout elementary and middle school. I started with Odyssey of the Mind (OOTM) in elementary school and participated in it for five years. My team and I were finalists at regionals each year and won third place at the state level as well. To progress my STEM journey, I competed in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) and was a finalist in both regionals and nationals. I also competed in the First Lego League (FLL), winning the Robot Design award twice at regionals and the Gracious Professionalism award at the state level.

After I developed much experience with block coding, such as EV3 and Scratch, I transitioned into coding using Python. I competed in the American Computer Science League (ACSL) in middle school for three years and received a perfect score in each seasonal contest for two years. I also went on to win a Bronze medal at the finals competition, with a perfect score in the short-problems section.

Currently, I compete in competitive coding using both Python and Java. I also compete in the Data Science & Analytics competition through the Technology Student Association (TSA). For the 2022-2023 school year, I ranked fifth in the state representing Rock Ridge High School.

I hope with my experience and passion, I can guide and inspire those who are aspiring in computer science and STEM.
